Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi parliamentary constituency recorded nearly 52 percent voter turnout after a sluggish start in the by-election yesterday morning.
“The voter turnout could be around 52 percent,” an electoral officer told IANS here.
“The voter turnout was just seven percent in the first one hour, but by 11am it rose to nearly 17 percent and 25 percent by 1 pm,” he said.
He said the highest turnout — 65 per cent — was recorded in Seraj, the assembly constituency represented by BJP candidate Jai Ram Thakur. IANS
