DOHA: Citi yesterday announced the appointment of Carmen Haddad (pictured) as the Chief Executive Officer for Citibank Qatar, in addition to her current responsibilities as head of the Citi Private Bank’s Gulf & Egypt business.
Carmen has been with Citi for the past 14 years spent mostly in the key areas of Private Banking, Corporate Finance, Direct Investments, Capital Markets, and Equity Structured Solutions.
Prior to joining Citi, Carmen had held senior positions in the Wealth Management and Asset Management divisions of JP Morgan Chase, Lehman brothers and Merrill Lynch covering top institutional and private banking clients in the Middle East and Europe.
Commenting on her new role, Carmen said: “I am delighted to lead the Citi Franchise in Qatar and to continue to build strong and stable relationships with top clients in Doha. We plan to build on our success in Qatar and to further invest in our business based in the country to serve our Government, Financial Institution, and Corporate clients.” Atiq Ur Rehman, Citi’s Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and North Africa Division, said: “Qatar is an important market for Citi and Carmen’s diverse experience positions her well for this assignment.”
