Malarvadi Quran contest attract hundred's of children

Doha: Malarvadi children organisation conducted its fifth edition of Holy Quran Contest recently. A selection round competition held at 11 different areas in Qatar was attended by more than six hundred children under 13 years. From each area two toppers were selected from Junior and senior Category for Quran Recitation and Quran based Quiz Competition. Mega final was held at Quality Hypermarket auditorium.

Winners are as follows with first, second and third position respectively, Quran Recitation Junior : Asma Nisar (Al-Khor), Afeefa Jabeen (Bin Omran), Suha Abdul Shukoor (Garafa), Ilham Abdul Aziz (Wakrah - both are third place). Senior Category: Muhamed Hashim (Mamoura), Jafer Shameem (Bin Omran), Abdul Rahman (Mamoura). Quiz Junior : Saad Abdul Latheef (Rayyan), Khaleel Sameer (Dukhan), Jaslin (Rayyan), Senior : Aslah Thameem (Najma), Nabeel Abdul salam (Najma) & Hana Abulaize (Bin Omran). Area wise Najma scored 8 points to top the table, while Bin Omran got 7 points, Rayyan and Mamoura scored 6 points.

Hamad Medical Corporation Medical Director and Weill Cornell Medical College Asst Professor Dr Yousef Al Masalmani was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Indian Islamic Association Vice President K T Abdul Rahman delivered felicitation speech. Malarvadi Coordinator Siddique P chaired the function, Malarvadi General Secretary Abdul Jaleel M M welcomed the gathering, while Abdul Latheeef V P proposed vote of thanks.

Area winners received trophies from Malarvadi area organizers and final winners received trophies from Dr Masalmani, Rahman and C Aboobackar. Programme ended with a mass ifthar party, which was attended by around 300 people including participants and their parents.
