Doha, Qatar: Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater received yesterday a phone call from President of the International Committee of the Red Cross H E Mirjana Spoljaric.
During the call, they reviewed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and discussed joint efforts to provide aid to the Sudanese people during the next stage.
In this context, the two sides stressed the importance of securing humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to the areas most affected by the fighting in Sudan. During the call, the Minister of State for International Cooperation expressed Qatar’s thanks to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its great field efforts in Sudan, especially its embrace of infant and minor orphans who survived at the Mygoma orphanage, after the death of a number of the orphanage’s children due to war, malnutrition and poor healthcare over the past period.
For her part, Mirjana expressed the committee’s thanks to the State of Qatar for its efforts in helping the Sudanese people.
