DOHA: The website of International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) was hacked on Tuesday.
On the homepage, a message appeared saying, ‘This site has been hacked by Team 313 and the seven domains of the website have been taken out.’
The hackers put an Iraqi flag on the website and cited Islamic scholars’ support (ISIS) as the reason for hacking it.
They said it is Iraqis’ slap, which is the nation of prophets and civilisations.
They warned that it is just the first part of what is to come and that the worst is yet to happen.
“You ignorant Muslim union and preachers of Sultans, do you think that we will keep silent when you are misleading the Muslims and passing Israeli plans? Do you think that the destruction of our great civilisation in Ninawa by ISIS and humiliation of our women will pass without consequence? You are calling ISIS an Islamic sect and you want us to keep silent? Do you call those who are distorting the religion of peace, mind and humanity Muslims?” they said.
What was published by the hackers contradicted the stand of IUMS which said on July 7 that the announcement of the ISIS caliphate was illegal and had no religious impact which showed that they were not supporting ISIS.
The creation of the Islamic caliphate has conditions and needs deep preparation at different levels. Muslims in general should agree on such a thing and the decision should not be made by a small group.
Established by IUMS on June 4, 2011, the website has been publishing news and statements of the union with its Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi and Secretary-General, Dr Ali Mohiyuddin Al Quradaghi.
The last statement published on the website was a call for solidarity with Gaza against Israeli aggression.
