Kerry, Sharif discuss regional and terrorism issues

ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State John Kerry and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif discussed over the phone today key bilateral and regional issues, including tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) between Pakistan and India.

The top US diplomat assured Sharif of Washington's support to Pakistan in its was against terrorism.

He also informed Sharif that US President Barack Obama is looking forward to meet him.

Earlier in the day, US Ambassador Richard Olson met Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs.

Both leaders discussed bilateral relations during the meeting.

They also discussed matters related to the war on terror and regional security.

The talks came days ahead of a visit to Pakistan by Afghan President Hamid Karzai. (QNA)
