Qatar Assam Society, a socio-cultural organisation of people from Assam, a Northeastern state of India, organised an Eid-Mehfil recently.
President of Qatar Assam Society Dr Bhupendra Kumar Saikia delivered the welcome address. It was followed by cultural programmes like Zikir, Ghazals, songs, dances and instrumental melodies presented by the members of the society. A recitation of the famous poem “Eid Mubarak” by poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was the highlight of the day.
A sweet dish competition was held for families, which attracted a large number of participants.
The occasion was attended by the President of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) Girish Kumar.
