Doha: Friends of the Environment Centre, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, concluded activities of “Sustainability Summer 2025” camp for both boys and girls with a closing ceremony that honoured participating organizations, official sponsors, and the camp’s staff and volunteers.
The camp was organised as part of the Centre’s efforts to instil environmental values and promote the concept of sustainability among young people, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 , particularly its environmental pillar. Participants engaged in a series of interactive workshops and educational trips that combined learning with hands-on experience. Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Centre, Fahad Abdullah Malik, emphasised that the “Sustainability Summer 2025” programme represented a significant milestone for the Centre.
He noted that it contributed tangibly to raising environmental awareness among participants and helped them understand sustainability as a way of life rather than a mere theoretical concept.
The camp blended learning with practical experience through diverse workshops, interactive activities, and field trips, giving young participants the opportunity to apply what they learned and explore environmental challenges and solutions firsthand.
He said that youth participation in innovation and recycling workshops, educational trips, and heritage-related sustainability activities fostered a sense of responsibility and equipped them with new skills to become ambassadors for environmental awareness within their local communities.
