TEHRAN: Iran is currently negotiating exporting gas to Europe, Iran's Deputy Minister of Oil for Planning Mohsen Khojastehmehr said.

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran news agency (IRNA), Khojastehmehr said Iran is the safest gas supplier in the long-run.

"We are now busy holding in talks for gas exports and transfer of gas to Europe," he said.

Iran has signed final contracts with Turkey, Pakistan and Iraq for export of gas to those countries and operations have started for gas exports to Iraq, the Deputy Minister remarked.

As of next year, with the arrival of South Pars gas field products at the market, Iran's gas balance will be positive, he said adding that USD21 billion will be invested in South Pars field this year. (QNA)
