DOHA: As shortage of parking spaces increases in rapidly developing Doha, the situation is acute and worsening everyday with heavy vehicles being parked in residential areas.
Residents in suburbs of Doha complain that heavy vehicles parked at residential areas causing several problems, according to an Arabic newspaper report.
Some places of residential areas like Najma, Um mugalina, Doha Al Jadeeda, Al Ghanim, Al Qadeem has been turned as parking grounds for heavy vehicles.
These vehicles cause noise in the nights and an insecure feeling for the residents as it could be used for illegal activities, according to the news report.
Therefore residents have requested authorities to monitor these vehicles.
Most of these vehicles belong to construction companies and others are parked as the drivers live in the area. Residents also complain that these parking grounds are being used as hubs to buy and sell vehicles; they cause damage to the environment and disturb the general view of the area. They request the concerned authorities to monitor these vehicles and provide them with separate parking area away from the residential places.
