DOHA: Coordinators and providers of statistics at public organisations have recommended a link between the Ministry of Development, Planning and Statistics and the government departments concerned to expedite procedures and facilitate collection of correct data.
The statistics departments in the public sector should send data they collect to the ministry that sends figures to the international community and other government organisations, said a statement following a meeting of coordinators and providers yesterday.
They said authorities should strengthen cooperation to collect and provide correct statistics.
A database should be set up at the ministry and should include all statistics released by authorities, the statement said.
A unified law or agreement should be made to ensure secrecy of classified information, it added.
