BAGHDAD: At least six policemen were wounded in the Iraqi Rawa district, west of Anbar in a late hour last night, when two mortar shells hit the Police Directorate in Rawa.
A security source in Anbar told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the partial curfew was announced in the city and all the roads leading to it were closed.
At least eight policemen were also killed and wounded when a car bomb and an IED went off in Anna city west of Anbar.
A security source said that a car bomb exploded near a police checkpoint at the entrance of the city, followed by an explosion of roadside bomb near the scene of the first blast.
He added that the two blasts led to the deaths of three policemen and five others wounded.
All entrances to the city were closed and curfew was imposed in the district.
Gunmen also attacked Police Directorate of the city and the Mayor's home, killing two of the mayor's brothers and four of his bodyguards and three policemen. (QNA)
