DOHA: Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser issued on Tuesday a decision to establish the Qatar Foundation for Social Action, as a higher institution.
The new foundation undertakes via a combined Board of Directors the supervision and observation over the following institutions and centers: Qatar Foundation for the Care of Orphans, Qatar Foundation for the care of the elderly, Qatar Foundation for protection and social rehabilitation, which includes both Qatar Foundation for the protection of women and Children and the Qatar Foundation for Combating human Trafficking and social Rehabilitation Center, the Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs , Family Consulting Center (FCS) and the Social Development Center (SDC).
This decision will have a great impact on strengthening the civil society organizations in the State of Qatar and activate its role in social action so that it can achieve the objectives for which it was founded and to ensure its positive and effective contribution in the development of the Qatari community, which comes at top priorities of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
