Riyadh: The Asian Football Confederation announced the list of referees participating in officiating the matches of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027. The list included several Qatari referees selected to officiate the tournament matches.
The list featured international referees Abdulrahman Al-Jassim and Salman Flahi, along with assistant referees Taleb Salem Al-Merri, Saud Ahmed, and Majid Hadeeres.
Khamis Al-Merri was also selected to participate as part of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team, while Abdulrahman Abdo will serve as a technical instructor, and Bandar Al-Dosari as a fitness instructor.
The selection of Qatari referees to officiate the 2027 AFC Asian Cup matches underscores the presence of Qatari refereeing competencies in continental assignments, in one of the most prominent tournaments across the Asian continent.
