Doha: The Ajyal Youth Film Festival, presented by the Doha Film Institute, hosted an Instagram competition, “Save the Day” on Friday at the Cultural Village Katara.
Over 150 people signed up for the competition to help Otaku Man (Otaku Exhibition Anime Character) save the day. The goal was to find the Anime Villains who invaded Katara and take a photo with them to post on Instagram with the competition hash tag #instajyal. The participants who didn’t have an Instagram account had their map stamped by the villains. Three winners won Sony PlayStation Vistas, courtesy of Fifty One East.
There were other events also during the hunt, including, face painting with Anime characters, trading cards games, and Make Your Own Manga story.
After the hunt, the participants were guided to a surprise special screening of the Anime Classic, My Neighbor Totoro.
