Doha: The IT Security Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has disclosed that nearly 1,786 security breaches have occurred in the internal networks of different ministries and other government bodies. The breaches ranged from ‘medium’ to ‘highly’ dangerous in terms of the threat they posed to the network.
The department is trying to shield the internal networks from viruses and security lapses, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
The strategic index of the ministries also showed that there has been a decline in the number of cyber crimes in the country because of regular security upgrades.
The IT network of the ministries and government bodies will be completely secured by 2016, when the national shield project is implemented.
