Doha: Qatar Chemical Company Ltd (Q-Chem) held recently its annual town hall meeting for Qatari employees working in the company, under the banner ‘Qad’ha- We can do it’. The meeting which took place at Ritz Carlton Doha was aimed at strengthening the Qatarisation drive in the company.
All Qatari Q-Chem employees, including senior management, group managers and department managers attended the event. Also in attendance were Abubaker Al Saiari, QP Chairman of the Strategic Qatarisation Plan Steering Committee, Dr Ken MacLeod President of College of North Atlantic- Qatar (CNA-Q), and David Walsh, Dean of School of Engineering CNA-Q, and other prominent representatives. Q-Chem General Manager, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Emadi opened the session and set out the bold Qatar strategic development goals for improving the National workforce which have been adopted and aligned with Q-Chem’s objectives. Al Emadi thanked Qatari employees for their efforts in preparing and presenting proposals in various fields. “Qataris take a central role in the company’s development and sustainability”, he said.
Q-Chem has set up a strategic manpower planning and recruitment program for Qataris and has established a Qatarization Steering Committee to oversee the development of qualified Qataris, empower them with skills and education, and retain them within the Q-Chem organisation.
The organisers prepared a number of self-improvement activities and invited key motivational speakers to share their skills and experiences. The meeting agenda included updates on important achievements in Qatarisation development strategy including success stories of Qatari Q-Chem employees.
