Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to the Emperor of Japan, Akihito, on his country’s National Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
Cyber crimes draft law reviewed
Doha: The Advisory Council’s Internal and Foreign Affairs Committee convened its first regular session yesterday. It unanimously re-elected Mohammed Abdullah Al Sulaiti as rapporteur for the current session.
It also examined a draft law on combating cyber crimes and decided to submit a report to the council.
Meanwhile, the council held its weekly session, chaired by the Speaker, Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi. The council’s Secretary-General Fahd bin Mubarak Al Khayareen read out the agenda while the council approved the minutes of its previous session.
It discussed a report by the services and public utilities committee on a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 4 of 1985 on building regulations and decided to send it to the committee to study it further and submit a report.
Qatar, Senegal sign agreement
Doha: Qatar and Senegal have signed an agreement regulating the employment of Senegalese workers in Qatar.
The deal was signed by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al Khulaifi and the Senegalese Minister of Public Service, Labour, Social Dialogue and Professional Organisations, Mansour Sy. They reviewed cooperation, especially in the field of labour and workers.
