Baghdad - Iraqi President Fuad Masum met Wednesday with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, currently on a visit to Baghdad.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of coordination and cooperation in issues of common concern such as oil and gas, combating desertification, and stimulating religious tourism.
The Iraqi president hailed the historic ties between the two countries, stressing the importance of enhancing them in the political, economic and development fields as well as in fighting terrorism.
For his part, the Iranian official reiterated his country's support for the Iraqi people in combating terrorism, voicing his country's keenness on deep-rooted friendship ties between the two peoples.
