JERUSALEM-- Israeli warplanes hit southern Gaza Wednesday after sniper fire against troops, the military said, in the second such strike since a seven-week war in the Palestinian territory ended in August.
"In response to the firing at our forces who were east of the fence in the southern Gaza Strip, we carried out immediate attacks against the relevant targets," a statement said shortly after Palestinian medics reported the death of a Hamas militant in the same area.
