Doha: QTerminals emerged winners in the first edition of MSC Challenge Trophy 2018 organised by Mediterranean Shipping Company (Qatar) W.L.L at MIC Cricket Stadium, Mesaieed Qatar.
Final was played between host MSC & QTerminals. Earlier MSC Won the toss and elected to bat first setting a target of 113/4 in 8 overs. QTerminal chased down the target in 7.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.
Sameesh Syamalan of Qterminals who scored 50 runs in 19 balls was termed as the man of the match finals.
Imran Khadar of MSC named as the best batsman of the tournament scored 372 Runs in 6 innings. Atul A of Aerofreight emerged as the best bowler with 6 wickets in 4 matches.
GWC won over GAC in the losers final and secured the third position. Ten teams participated in the tournament which was played under two groups. There were 24 matches played altogether in two days time, which includes 20 league stage matches and 4 knockout matches (including semifinal and losers final). According to the organizers, this tournament will leave a strong legacy of international-standard and it promotes cooperation within the shipping community.
