Urdu Radio marks Qatar National Day

Doha: This year, Qatar National Day was celebrated at the Urdu Radio (FM 107) with a lot of pomp, show, and enthusiasm. The event began with live coverage of the National Day Parade from the Doha Corniche and coverage of Amir Cup final from the newly inaugurated Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.

Urdu Radio also invited and hosted an array of dignitaries who attended the studio and were guests on live shows telecast throughout the evening.

Among these esteemed dignitaries were the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar H E Md Jashimuddin, Ambassador of India to Qatar H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar H E Dr. Narad Nath Bharadwaj, and Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar H. E. Syed Ahsan Raza Shah.

Each of the guests congratulated the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and spoke about strengthening their respective nations and Qatar.

The Bangladeshi Ambassador wished Qatar luck for the nation’s prosperity and talked about the betterment of the Bangladeshi community. He emphasized on Bangladeshi community’s role in the building of relations between the two countries.

The Indian Ambassador highlighted the strong mutual bond that India and Qatar share historically and stressed the importance of diplomatic ties between them.

Further, the Nepali envoy spoke about measures and assistance given out to its expatriate community in Qatar at the onset of the pandemic. He stressed the development of the tourism industry in Nepal and how Qatar can partner in the same.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Ambassador congratulated the Pakistani community on this occasion. He stressed the importance of the expatriate community in the development of this nation at the grass-root level and higher up.

Each of the Ambassadors and guests was congratulated and felicitated by Urdu Radio on this occasion with a token of appreciation for their presence at the studios and for making this event a grand success.

The station also hosted a session with the Executive General Manager (Investment and Strategy) of Commercial Bank Parvez Khan. 

Another highlight of the event was the opportunity given to listeners to become RJs of the FM107. Several followers of the station were called to the studios and given a chance to host shows of FM107 Urdu Radio. The current Director hosted all the evening shows at Urdu Radio Shadab Ahmad Khan with Saif Ur Rehman, the founder of the station; and other presenters including Farzana Safdar, Fauziya Shafique, Mahvish Khan, Aisha Mujahid, Samiya Tayyab, and Nazia Amir from the Urdu Radio team.
