Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud after Saudis pledged allegiance to the new monarch.
The Emir also sent cables of congratulations to Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz on becoming the new Crown Price and Deputy Prime Minister and Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on being appointed as Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent cables of congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent similar cables to King Salman, Prince Muqrin and Prince Mohammed.
Doha: The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and his delegation returned home yesterday after attending the inauguration of Bolivian President Evo Morales for a third term. They were bid farewell by Qatari Ambassador to Peru Jamal Nasser Al Badr at the airport in capital La Paz.
Doha: The Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah yesterday met US Central Command Commander General Lloyd J Austin III and his delegation. Talks dealt with regional developments, and means of strengthening relations. QNA
