DOHA: The Fifth Annual Facade Design & Engineering Middle East Summit kicks off today at the InterContinental Doha.
At the two-day event designers and engineers will discuss the emerging face of structures from stadiums to green buildings and how innovative and ground-breaking facades can turn them into iconic buildings that capture the imagination of users and onlookers.
A presentation by Mark Fenwick, partner at RFA Iribarren Architects, will open the summit. He will talk about Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums serving as futurist sports venues by using the Education City Stadium as a case study.
“The summit brings together key industry stakeholders on an interactive platform to spawn new discourse and foster exchange of emerging ideas at a time when buildings are increasingly being designed to show individual character,” said Tanya Sydorenko, Senior Conference Director, IQPC, the event organisers.
Presentations and case studies will cover a broad canvas of key topics; energy-efficient facade designs, acoustic performance of facades, facade lighting designs and media facades, green building practices in facade architecture and eco-facade engineering, among others.
