ISLAMABAD: The King of Bahrain H M Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will be visiting Pakistan in March on an invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain, official sources said on Monday, adding that the visit will have “a conspicuous significance” in the wake of important developments in the region.
Bahrain is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and close to Saudi Arabia.
The visit will have an added significance since it is taking place within weeks of the visit of Saudi Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Salman bin Abdul Aziz to Pakistan.
Diplomatic sources said King Hamad will be visiting Pakistan with a large and high-powered delegation from his kingdom. The monarch will have an official dialogue with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
