Jewellery & watches expo draws crowds

DOHA: The 12th Doha Jewellery and Watches exhibition saw renowned international brands unveil their collection of novelty pieces attracting many jewellery and watch aficionados yesterday.
The glittering event witnessed Chanel showcase its iconic jewellery creations, including the ‘1932’ collection, which celebrates the 80th anniversary of the ‘Bijoux de Diamants’, the first and only high jewellery collection created by Gabrielle Chanel. 
Another highlight is the ‘Sous le Signe du Lion’ collection, with the magnificent ‘Constellation du Lion’ brooch. 
Some of Chanel’s watch-making creations are also showcased. 
Graff revealed the most fabulous jewels in the world, along with its latest innovations of high-end timepieces. 
Swiss luxury Audemars Piguet displayed its latest novelties; Officine Panerai presented for the first time in the region a selection of timepieces from its 2015 collection.
Rolex charmed visitors with designs, including Datejust Pearlmaster 34, Sky-Dweller, Sea-Dweller 4000, the newest version of Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II and the Cellini collection; Bremont exhibited the much anticipated Boeing collection and Breva showed off its latest scientific instrument watch.
Jewellery lovers also got a chance to catch a glimpse of the Rivage necklace by Maison Boucheron which holds a special place in the Maison’s heart, being the last piece of high jewellery made by the longest serving of Boucheron’s master jewellers.
Visitors were charmed by Lotus Flower of the Mandala Collection by Pasquale Bruni and a limited edition series of ‘Qatar dedicated’ calibration cufflink by Roland Iten.
Other premium and luxury jewellery and watches brands acknowledged for their mastery of design present at the exhibition include Cartier, Christian Dior, Faberge, David Morris, Panerai, Van Cleef & Arpels, Jaeger Lecoulture, Hublot, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe, ChronoSwiss, Korloff, Ferre Milano, Chatila, Royal Diamond, Montegrappa, Al Zain Jewellery, Matis Jewellery, David Webb, and Versailles Jewellery, among others.
Among the reputable international and regional brands debuting at the expo are Jaipur Gems, Altinbas, Jean Paul Gaultier, Davidoff, Fendi, Phillipe Royal, Shenoy, Tellus, Swarovski, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rochas, Saint Honore, Cover, Charles Jourdan, Grovana, Seculus, Westend, Domaskenos, Cabestan, Al Bidaa Swords & Gifts, Valbray, Dietrich, Golden Dreams Geneva , Dust Kreations, AKM Mehrasons, Al Khudairy Jewellery, Al Tawash, Brusco, Cvstos, Hafner, Hodel, KGK, Lithos, Mattia Cielo, Malpani, Manufacture Royale, Maitres du Temps, Schoeffel, Speake Marine, Vacheron Constantin, Yeprem, Yessayan, Suzanne Kalan, Rosy Blue, Dar Al Majid Fine Jewellery, Breva, Brioni, Jean Paul Menucci, Laviere, Roaln Iten and Yvan Tufenkjian.
Hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority, q.media Events and Fira Barcelona at Qatar National Convention Centre, the exhibition runs until Saturday from noon to 10pm and on Friday from 4pm to 10pm.
