One of India’s most celebrated tennis players Sania Mirza visited Birla Public School on Monday. Principal, staff and students gave her a rousing welcome.
The students lined up at the corridors to give a hearty welcome to Sania Mirza whom they called the “Pride of India.”
Later, in a function organised to mark her visit, she answered the questions posed by students.
“While one should go after one’s passion one should ensure one completes basic education,” observed Sania when she was asked if it was fine if one followed one’s passion.
To a question on striking balance between tennis and studies, she said that she worked hard to strengthen her skills in tennis and do well at school also. She added that tennis had taught her to bounce back after defeat and go after the goal with increased hope and determination.
Sania Mirza expressed her pleasure in interacting with the students and thanked the management and staff for their hospitality.
