Students dance as they celebrate the Holi Festival at a mall in Manila yesterday. It is one of the major festivals in India, celebrating the turn of the seasons from winter to spring. Also known as the Festival of Colours, it is a fun-filled celebration during which people gather to enjoy a day of dancing, eating and throwing coloured powder at one another. The throwing of coloured powder in the air and at each other symbolises unity, freedom and the colour of everyday life. The festival was celebrated for the first time in Manila yesterday.
