Leaders send greeting cables to Sultan Qaboos

Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a cable of congratulations to H M Qaboos bin Said of Oman on his safe return to his country after a successful treatment abroad.
The Emir wished him the best of health and the Omani people further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent a similar cable to Sultan Qaboos.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a cable of congratulations to Sultan Qaboos.


Condolences sent to Germany, Spain


Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent cables of condolences to German President Joachim Gauck and Chancellor Angela Merkel on the victims of the German plane that crashed over the Alps in South France.
The Emir also sent similar cables to King Felipe VI of Spain and French President Francois Hollande.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent condolence cables Gauck, Merkel, King Felipe VI and Hollande.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent cables of condolences to Merkel, Spain’s Prime minister Mariano Rajoy and French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Qatar’s condolences and stressed Qatar’s full sympathy with the bereaved families. 


Emir gets message from Ghani


Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday received a written message from Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.
Assistant Foreign Minister H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi met Afghan Charge d’Affaires Mohammed Kasim who presented the message. Foreign Ministry officials were present.


FM hold talks   with counterparts


Doha: Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah yesterday held separate telephone talks with British Secretary of State Philip Hammond, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Talks  dealt with latest developments in Yemen.
