The Hague: Qatar is participating in the Global Oceans Action Summit for Food Security and Blue Growth, currently underway in The Hague, with a delegation headed by the Minister of Environment H E Ahmed bin Amer Al Humaidi.
The conference is an international gathering for governments, scientists and ocean experts as well as civil society groups and international organisations. It aims to look at environmental dangers and challenges that face oceans and reach radical solutions for them by exchanging expertise and working papers between experts, and activating mutual understanding between countries to create sustainable development projects for post-2015.
The event discusses the mechanisms needed to strike a balance between economic activities and preserving the natural environment. It also works to find projects through partnership between the different sectors, expanding the circle of investments, drafting laws, and providing the necessary funds to achieve economic profit, provide food and eradicate poverty.
