Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday a cable of congratulations to the President of Eritrea, on his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
DOHA: Under the patronage and in the presence of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the third edition of Qatar ICT Conference and Exhibition, ‘QITCOM 2014’ open tomorrow.
The three-day event will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The Minister of Information and Communications Technology H E Dr Hessa Sultan Al Jaber will deliver the opening speech and the Minister of Finance H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi the keynote speech.
Organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and managed by fischerAppelt, Qatar, the event will focus on information and communications technology (ICT). With the mission to inspire people to ‘Innovate Today for the Future of Qatar,’ the event will host local, regional and global experts who will share insights into ICT topics.
The third edition is important, as it will also feature an exhibition, awards, competitions for entrepreneurs and students, and other offerings to reflect aspirations and growth potential of the Qatari ICT sector.
QITCOM is part of the ministry’s efforts to harness the power of ICT, driving innovation into the future, as an advanced ICT sector is crucial to a diversified economy. ICT supports all aspects of the development plan outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030, and is key to realising the leadership’s vision – from sustaining economic prosperity to providing a high standard of living to all people in Qatar.
Leipzig: The Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti yesterday met separately British Transport Secretary Robert Kwodwyl, German Federal Minister for Transport, Building and Urban Development Peter Ramsauer and French Minister for Transport Minister Frederic Cuvillier. The meetings were held on the sidelines of International Transport Forum in the city of Leipzig. The meetings dealt with relations between Qatar and these countries, especially in the field of transport and communications.
