Doha: Universal Peace Federation presented Ambassador Dr Mutlaq Majid Al Qahtani, Director, Department of International Organisations and Conferences at the Foreign Ministry, with Ambassador for Peace Award in a ceremony in New Zealand’s city of Auckland.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Al Qahtani said: “Acceptance of the award comes with gratitude and modesty on behalf of the oppressed everywhere in the world and peace-loving people who stood bravely against the forces of tyranny. I came from a country that views international relations as a trend based on consolidation of peace and security through the promotion of peaceful settlement of disputes and support for the right of peoples to self-determination.” He also highlighted Qatar’s conviction that international peace and security can be achieved through dialogue based on equality, compliance with the international law and respect for human rights.
