A group of female students from Qatar University visited ExxonMobil Research Qatar (EMRQ) at the Qatar Science & Technology Park last week. The students are currently undergoing degrees at Qatar University’s College of Engineering, and Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences.
The visit, which was organized in collaboration with Qatar University’s Career Services Center (CSC), comes as part of ExxonMobil Qatar’s ongoing collaboration with Qatar University, and emphasizes how the company provides the university’s students with opportunities where they can see science in action, and experience the work that is done at the center in support of scientific research.
“We at the Career Services Center, continue to provide QU students with on-site experiences that add value to their current studies and motivate them to make informed decisions on their future careers. This visit at ExxonMobil was an invaluable opportunity for them”, CSC Acting Director Maha Al-Marri said.
“A key goal for ExxonMobil is to help develop the next generation of scientists and engineers, and this can only be achieved through close cooperation between academia and industry – hence our ongoing collaboration with Qatar University,” said Abdullatif Al-Naemi, National Development Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar.
