Mujahid wins U-18 tennis crown

Doha: Mujahid Khan won the boys under 18 singles title in the eighth edition of the Smash Tennis Academy Championship which concluded at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday.
The under 18 final was an all-Bay Club InterContinental Doha affair with Mujahid overcoming the challenge of fellow trainee Joud Al Azmeh in the final. Bay Club InterContinental Doha trainees also won two more titles. Taym Al Azmeh won the U-14 boys singles title defeating Mohammad Ameral in the final.
Taym went on to complete his double, clinching the boys U-14 boys title in partnership with Adil Khan.

More honours came Bay Club InterContinental Doha way with coach  Cliff Acaso winning the top place in the men’s doubles.
Organised by Smash Tennis Academy and the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), the event saw the participation of 300 players in different age groups. Nasser Al Motawa claimed the boys U-10 title defeating Mostafa Khaled in the final match, while In girls U-12 event, Cristal Oliviera took the gold medal following her victory over Amna Homoud.
Meanwhile, the QTF Open tennis tournament is in progress at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex and will end on May 30.
 More than 250 players are competing in the Under-18, U-14, U-12, U-10, U-9, U-8 sections, in both boys and girls categories.
