Doha, Qatar: Birla Public School observed World Mental Health Awareness Week from May 10 to 14, 2026, aligning with this year’s global theme, “ACTION.” The Primary Section of the school organised diverse and engaging activities to promote emotional well-being, positivity, and self-awareness among students.
The week began with a special awareness assembly highlighting the importance of mental health, emotional resilience, kindness, and self-care. Students actively participated in activities such as Mirror Self-Talk, Flower/Badge of Positive Affirmations, and Fill Your Cup with Feelings, encouraging confidence, self-expression, and positivity.
A highlight of the programme was the Fill Your Cup with Feelings activity, which helped students and teachers identify and understand the emotions and feelings children experience in their daily lives, fostering emotional awareness and open communication.
Adding creativity and calmness to the programme, the Dance and Music Department conducted special sessions featuring positive affirmation songs, belly breathing exercises, and guided relaxation sessions. These activities helped students understand healthy ways to manage emotions and maintain inner balance.
This range of meaningful activities created a nurturing environment where students were encouraged to communicate openly, appreciate individuality, and support one another with empathy and compassion. The observance reflected the school’s continued commitment towards holistic development by prioritising both academic excellence and emotional well-being. There were activities conducted for the teachers and Senior Leadership Team too.
The successful observance of World Mental Health Awareness Week reinforced the importance of mental health awareness from an early age and empowered students with positive coping strategies to grow into confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals.
