DOHA: Al Bidda Switchgear, a new electrical product manufacturing facility located in Industrial Area, with an installed capacity to produce up to 30,000 units (per annum) of high quality electrical switchgear, will commence operation by this August.
The high-tech manufacturing facility of Al Bidda Switchgear, build in an area of 14,000 sqm, yesterday signed a technology transfer agreement with German company NATUS. Al Bidda Switchgear will become the largest first-class facility in Qatar for total electrical switchgear manufacture, general sheet steel engineering and fabrication, and powder coating services.
For more than 50 years, NATUS GmbH & Co. KG has been a key provider of integrated electrotechnical solutions, setting the standard in innovation, safety and quality for switchgear systems in Germany and globally.
B Ramaswamy, Al Bidda CEO, said that he expected the company to employ 300-400 people within 18 months and have an output of 20,000 -30,000 units per annum.
“Our manufactured switchgear equipment is much needed for use within Qatar and will also be exported to GCC countries and North Africa. The equipment produced by Al Bidda will combine the highest standard quality, safety and innovation and be competitively priced,” said B Ramaswamy.
