DOHA: After three challenging matches at the FIFA World Cup, Al Annabi finally showed the attacking spirit many supporters had been waiting for in their final match at the World Cup.

Although Qatar's tournament came to an end, following a 3-1 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in Seattle, USA, fans praised what they described as the team's most confident and ambitious performance of the competition.

From increased attacks and offense to bolder decision-making, many supporters felt the final result did not fully reflect the progress shown on the pitch.

Several fans noted that Qatar appeared to play with greater freedom compared to its previous matches against Switzerland and Canada, where caution often outweighed attacking intent. Rather than allowing their previous losses to affect morale, supporters said the team responded with resilience and determination.

"Honestly, we were just here to enjoy the journey," said Abdulaziz Al Romaihi, a fresh graduate and Al Annabi fan.

"I'm always going to watch and support either way, no matter what."

Al Romaihi believed Qatar gradually improved throughout the tournament.

"We didn't start so strong. The first half against Switzerland was weak, but by the second half of that game, we started progressing. The substitutions helped and that's why I think we scored and played better."

It is also important to note that this World Cup marked a milestone for Qatar, as Al Annabi secured the nation's first-ever point at the FIFA World Cup. This ended up making history for the nation.

While some fans described the Canada match as a step backward, Al Romaihi felt Qatar approached Bosnia with a different mentality, helping them improve.
"Today was really encouraging," he said.

"There were more attacks and more risks. Not all of them worked, but confidence was one of the biggest factors that helped us score and play better."

He also singled out goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada for his efforts throughout the tournament and praised Ahmed Fathy's influence in midfield, adding that Edmilson Junior showed increased confidence during the Bosnia match, since the beginning of his performance in this tournament.

Abunada, preferred over seasoned Meshaal Barshim, was the star of the match in a memorable draw against Switzerland, while he remained impressive against Bosnia.

As for the fans in the USA, optimism remained despite the result.

"It was a great experience for the Qatari audience, and hopefully what's next is still to come," one fan said.

For many supporters, Qatar's improved display against Bosnia demonstrated that the team is capable of competing at the highest level when playing with confidence.

"Everyone stands with Al Annabi, whether they win or lose, because this team represents all of us," said Abdulhadi Ali Al-Haidar. "We thank all the players."

He expressed hope that the tournament would serve as a starting point for continued growth.

"God willing, this participation will be the beginning of a review and further development. We want to see Al Annabi return to the level that best represents how we view and appreciate it. Our confidence in the national team remains strong, "Al-Haidar added.

Hussain Al Sayegh shared the same feelings as he also encouraged his team: “We wish Al Annabi all the best in the next stage and thank the players and coaching staff for their efforts," he said. "Football has victories and defeats. The important thing is to learn from every experience."

As Qatar's World Cup journey comes to a close, supporters remain thankful to their team. This shows that Al Annabi's spirit is undefeatable, with fans hopeful that the lessons learned this tournament will shape a stronger and more confident team in future international participations.
