Kabul: Nine Taliban militants have been killed and 16 others were detained in joint operations carried out by Afghan forces and the Nato-led coalition troops within the last 24 hours in different parts of the country.
The Afghan forces and the Nato-led coalition troops conducted joint operations in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Ghazni, Paktika and Helmand within the last 24 hours killing nine Taliban militants, injuring two others and detaining 16 others, Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement yesterday.
Quantity of heavy and light weapons as well as mines were seized during the operations, the statement added without mention any losses in the ranks of the security forces.
