91 Thais to return home from distraught Egypt

BANGKOK: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says another 91 Thais will be returning home in the next two days from Egypt, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Nuttavudh Photisaro said some of the returnees will resume their work or study in Egypt once peace is restored in the strife-torn country.

A total of 332 Thais arrived at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport from Egypt on Friday morning.

The group of 91 Thais will arrive separately from Cairo with the first batch of 11 people arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Aug 24 in the afternoon via Egypt Air.

Onthe other hand, another 80 will arrive via a Singapore Airlines flight before noon on Aug 25.

Nuttavudh also said about 300 Thais consisting of workers and students have expressed their intention to continue remaining in Egypt.
