BAGUIO CITY: A shooting rampage In Dolores, Abra left a former vice mayor of that town, his cop-brother and a bodyguard of the incumbent town mayor killed Friday night, in what witnesses said was prompted simply by an altercation over a dice game. Cordillera police said one of its own, PO3 Dindo Guzman, 45, assigned at the police station in Bangued, Abra’s capital; his elder brother – former Dolores Vice Mayor Dante Guzman, 53 and Jun Cabanaoan, a bodyguard of incumbent town mayor Roberto Seares, Jr were killed in an apparent shooting at around 11:20pm at a wake in Sitio Balneg, Barangay Poblacion.
Cops charged with murders
BATANGAS: Charges have been filed against two policemen for the deaths of two female preachers of the Jesus Is Lord Movement in Balete town. Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Rueda-Acosta said two counts of murder and two counts of rape were filed with the provincial prosecutor’s office against PO3 Jose Rico Benitez and PO2 Mhelven Pagkaliwangan, both from a mobile patrol unit of Balete police. Witnesses identified them as the killers of preachers Adelaida Fabricante and Leonila Cafe.

MANILA: The body of an unidentified man, wrapped in a garbage bag and stuffed in a balikbayan box, was found on Matimyas street in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday morning.
