DOHA: The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) of Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), is offering expert language training in Mandarin and English.
TII’s Language Centre already offers language courses in Arabic, French, and Spanish, and is now extending its offerings after growing demand for more language choices in Qatar.
“Foreign language proficiency is a valued skill in our globalised world,” says Mounir Ouanaimi, Director of the centre. “Being able to effectively communicate many languages is imperative for students, employable graduates, and effective business people. At the Language Centre, we are able to provide students with opportunities to master the world’s most widely spoken languages to facilitate their advancement in their academic and professional careers.”
The Language Centre is now accepting applications for the Fall 2014 semester, with registration closing September 11th, and classes beginning September 16th. Last academic year, more than 350 students enrolled in various language programs at TII, and potential students are strongly encouraged to register early for the upcoming semester as places are limited. The Centre’s offerings have also expanded to provide TOEFL and IETLS courses for current undergraduate students, and those interested in returning to study.
