Temperature in Doha likely to reach 46 degrees today

DOHA: The Met office warned of a very hot Tuesday with the day temperature soaring up to 46 degrees Celsius in places like Doha and Dukhan.
The night temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius in the city. Al Ruwais will be relatively cooler with the day temperature forecast to be 40 degrees.
Places like Mesaieed, Abu Samra and Al Wakra may witness maximum temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures in these places would be 31 degrees.
And the hottest day of the month could likely be tomorrow when the mercury level is expected to rise further — up to 48 degrees Celsius in some places.
Today and tomorrow, high humidity levels are likely to make the heat worse. Humidity is expected to average 30 to 80 percent at least today. The peak is expected to be at night, understandably after 12.
It was a humid day yesterday as well with the average being 35 to 75 percent, a weather forecaster told this newspaper.
Meanwhile, the routine daily weather forecast issued by the Met office for today said it will be very hot during the day with slight dust hanging in the air at places, and some clouds.
Offshore, according to the forecast, it would be partly cloudy with slight dust and haze by night.
The wind direction is forecast to be southwesterly, becoming northwesterly and northeasterly at times.
Offshore, it would be mainly northwesterly and northeasterly winds. It is not forecast to be too windy a day.
Meanwhile, Hamad Medical Corporation(HMC) has issued a general warning for people in the wake of the weather conditions expected to be harsh, advising precautions.
