Damascus: Syria has called on the United Nations system and the UN Security Council to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities and take urgent and effective steps to deter Israel from engaging in its aggressive practices following the Israeli forces' incursion into Beit Jinn area in Damascus countryside.
This military incursion was conducted by a force consisting of 11 military vehicles and nearly 60 troops which took over Tal Bat Al Warda on the slopes of Mount Hermon, in an egregious breach of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement on Monday.
The statement added that this dire escalation poses a direct threat to regional security and stability and once again replicates the aggressive approach the Israeli occupation authorities pursue in a flagrant challenge to the provisions of international law and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
The continuation of these breaches undermines the stability efforts and escalates tension in the region, the statement stressed.
Today, the Israeli occupation forces conducted incursions into a wide swath of regions across Damascus countryside, as well as Quneitra and took over Tal Bat Al Warda in Mount Hermon and fired bullets at residents.
