Doha: The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Abbas Araghchi held a telephone call.
They discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the ongoing talks between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran on establishing a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, and on a joint project to clear mines from the Strait.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed during the call the State of Qatar's full support for diplomatic efforts and all efforts trying to find a solution that guarantees the freedom of maritime navigation and paves the way for reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
