DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Elderly will soon expand its services and create more awareness about taking care of elders.

The foundation is looking forward to increase its staff and get services of a specialised company in providing care for elderly people, reported an Arabic daily yesterday.

Buthaina Al Marzooki, the director of nursing division, Qatar Foundation for Elders said that they will increase their work team up to four and extend their service to all parts of the country.

She further explained that a club will be established exclusively for elderly people in which they would have varied activities.

Qatar Foundation for Elders is presently providing health care, physiotherapy and nursing aid for elderly people. The foundation functions as a day care centre for elders between 8am and 2pm.

It also aims to create awareness among families about how to take care of the elders together with the Hamad Medical Cooperation.

While increasing the staff the foundation is aiming at recruiting more Arab nationals as nurses, since it would be easy to communicate with people, the daily reported. The Peninsula
