Doha: The 2013 Youth Change Everything (YCE) Conference, hosted by The Youth Company (TYC), will be held on September 27-28. It will be sponsored by the US embassy.

As a biennial conference for youth empowerment, YCE is a key TYC event that presents participating youth — particularly university and school students between 14 and 25 years — the opportunity to develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills.

The event will provide an unconventional platform for the youth to interact, exchange ideas and take part in discussions with motivational speakers and leaders from the region.

Mohammed Farid, Chairman of TYC, said: “Being a company which strives to empower and develop young people, we are always focused on creating life-changing and long-lasting experiences for the youth.

“We are committed to making the YCE conference a platform where, apart from getting theoretical knowledge, participants can also challenge themselves and their views of the world, explore and strengthen skills through practical activities, and be so surprised and excited with the outcomes that they will continue to work on developing themselves after the conference,” he said.

Since its initiation in March 2012, YCE has become an increasingly significant youth leadership event in the country, engaging volunteers and delegates from over 200 schools and universities, involving skilled trainers and inviting local and international speakers and leaders.

This year, the panel comprises speakers, including Gihad Ataala (student from VCUQ), Shaher Al Dhari (Al Rayyan), Bassel Mohamed El Deeb (former speaker at TEDx Doha), and Kristen Aanstoos (US Cultural Attaché).

The conference will also feature young performing artists, including the Qatari rap crew, Rosaset Alam, and the Qatar Beatbox Champion, Ahmed Aba Zaid.
