Doha, Qatar: Saudi Embassy celebrated 93rd National Day of the Kingdom by hosting a grand ceremony in The Ritz-Carlton, Doha yesterday.
The event was attended by former Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Than, Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Finance H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwar, H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani and Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library, H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H E Ambassador Ibrahim Fakhro, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps H E Ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed, Their Excellencies Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions.
Addressing the event, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Qatar H H Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud highlighted historical ties that connect Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which were established over long decades on solid foundations of love, appreciation, mutual respect, cooperation and common interest.
“It is a matter of pride and honour for us to celebrate this occasion that is dear to us in the sister State of Qatar, with which we are linked to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by deep-rooted, long-standing, brotherly and friendly ties that extend from our history, culture and shared authentic values,” said the Ambassador.
Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Qatar H H Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud addressing a reception organised by Saudi Embassy to mark 93rd National Day of Saudi Arabia at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, yesterday.
“This honourable gathering of senior statesmen and officials who are honouring our ceremony tonight and sharing our joy on our National Day is nothing but a confirmation of these distinguished ties and relations that bind our two brotherly countries and peoples,” he added.
The Ambassador said that it is an affirmation and commitment to push the relations of the two brotherly countries towards broad horizons of close cooperation in various fields in accordance with the directives of the leadership of the two countries, may God protect them.
He said that the bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Qatar are witnessing broad activity at a high pace through intense mutual visits between officials in the two brotherly countries.
“The number of visits made by Saudi delegations to the State of Qatar during the past three years has reached 80 visits, which is an important indicator of the distinguished level and high coordination that relations have reached in all fields,” said the Ambassador.
“The Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, thanks to the generous patronage of HRH Crown Prince and Saudi Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Head of the Saudi side in the Council, and his brother, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Head of the Qatari side, is playing an important and positive role in strengthening relations between the two countries.”
He said that this is through the committees emanating from it and taking advantage of the opportunities available in the two countries that contribute to strengthening and consolidating these relations in all sectors in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
“We in Doha Al Khair and on the dear land of Qatar also congratulate our brothers on the wonderful achievements, comprehensive renaissance and progress in all fields, and the amazing success of the best edition of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which we all enjoyed and which the whole world praised,” said the Ambassador.
He said that Qatar has achieved continuous success in organising meetings, forums, conferences and international events, making Doha an active centre, thanks to the vision and wise leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
“We look forward to Qatar, its dear leadership and its hospitable people, to other chapters of success as we approach the opening of Expo 2023 Doha next week, in which the Kingdom will participate in the largest pavilion of any participating country, which reflects our common interest in the importance of the issue of the environment, water, climate, combating desertification, and increasing green spaces,” said the Ambassador.
