Doha: Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani met with Minister of the Interior of the Italian Republic HE Matteo Piantedosi, who is visiting the country.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in security fields and ways to strengthen and develop them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest.
The meeting also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement to secure the Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
During the meeting, His Excellency presented his Italian counterpart with a commemorative gift, a Smith & Wesson revolver manufactured in 1957, which is considered part of the policing heritage in the State of Qatar.
