Cabinet hails Emir’s historic visit to Gaza

Doha: The cabinet has lauded the historic visit of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, paid to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, affirming the visit, its significant outcomes and the widescale welcome and applause it has gained.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud who chaired the weekly regular cabinet meeting held at the Emiri Diwan here yesterday.

Following the meeting Al Mahmoud said the visit is also regarded a tremendous boost to the Arab and international endeavours aiming to terminate the Israeli siege on the impoverished Gaza Strip, materialise the Palestinian national reconciliation and reiterate the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people with their right to establish their independent state with the holy city of Al Quds as its capital, to the fore.

Later the cabinet considered topics tabled on its agenda as follows:

The ministers took measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of law No. 10 of 1987 concerning the State’s public and private properties after taking note of the Advisory Council related recommendation in this regard.

The ministers also approved the following: The cabinet’s draft decision amending some provisions of the decision No. 18 of 2011 naming the chairman and members of the tax exemption committee and organising its activities and defining its rewards; cabinet’s draft decision on the reformation of two panels to evaluate the expropriated real estates for public benefit and defining their functions; and cabinet’s draft decision on the reformation of a central committee for grievances related to expropriating of real estates for public benefit and defining their functions.

The Cabinet also approved the draft cooperation agreement in legal field between the governments of Qatar and Grenada.
