Taliban open fire on car, kiling five civilians

Kabul: At least five civilians were killed after a group of Taliban militants opened fire on a civilian car in eastern Nangarhar province.
Afghan Khaama Press (KP) quoted local security officials as saying that the incident took place early yesterday in Khogyani district.
Provincial police spokesman, Hazrat Hussain Mashriqwal said the militants opened fire on a civilian vehicle which was travelling through Khogyani district.
Mashriqwal confirmed that five civilians were killed and two others were injured following the attack.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
Earthquake jolts KP province

Islamabad: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale jolted parts of Malakand Division in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday.
According to SAMAA, the earthquake tremors were felted in Malakand, Dir, Swat and other adjourning areas.
There is no immediate report of any damage caused by the region.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located 10 kilometres deep underground in Hindukash mountain region.
The Hindukash is an 800 kilometres long mountain range that stretches between central Afghanistan and northern Pakistan.                                      AGENCIES
